Introduction
The DeepTech Program is a national initiative to support researchers, entrepreneurs, and startup founders in developing their projects. It offers a dedicated platform to drive progress and innovation, aiming for breakthroughs that promote sustainable development and strengthen the Sultanate's position in DeepTech industries.
What is DeepTech?
DeepTech refers to advanced technologies based on scientific and engineering breakthroughs. It applies science and technology to solve real-world problems. Developing these technologies often requires significant funding, time, and overcoming market-entry challenges. Despite this, they have the potential to create major positive impacts on society and the economy.
Phase One of the Program
This phase serves as a screening process for projects in the program. Participants receive expert guidance, improve their pitching skills, and prepare investment documents to open doors for future funding opportunities.
- Registration Opens
- Initial Evaluation and Selection: Projects based on DeepTech with high growth potential are shortlisted
- Virtual Pitch Workshop: Participants join a workshop to enhance their pitching and presentation skills.
- Pitch to the Selection Committee: Teams present their projects to a committee that evaluates their quality and feasibility.
- Project Development: Selected candidates receive mentoring, refine their presentations, and create financial plans.
- Final Selection: Top candidates are chosen to advance to Phase Two, with full support from the Ministry to help them succeed.
Phase Two of the Program
This phase of the program provides:
- Financial Support: access to funding for project growth and development.
- Product Development Guidance: Support to establish a clear roadmap for product development and marketing, tailored to each project and team.
- Specialised Mentorship: Advice and guidance from industry leaders. Investor
- Investor Access: Opportunities to connect with investors interested in financing cutting-edge technologies.
The program is open to researchers, innovators, and startup founders residing in Oman who are ready to commit to the program and work on developing their projects over a two-year period, across various DeepTech fields such as:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
- Quantum Computing
- Biotechnology and Life Sciences
- Advanced Materials
- Robotics and Automation
- Energy and Sustainability Technologies
- Space Technologies
- Other DeepTech fields
